More than a century ago, a struggling young doctor named Arthur Conan Doyle wrote a story about a brilliant and enigmatic detective. The 26-year-old author would have been amazed to learn that Sherlock Holmes would become one of the most inspiring and influential literary characters of all time. So influential, that popular culture and the practice of criminal investigation would never be the same following his creation.
Traveling museum exhibition leaders collaborated with the Conan Doyle Estate, Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, and the Museum of London to create the greatest hands-on science and history exhibition to tour the international museum community.
In this exhibition, museum visitors will step into Conan Doyle’s Victorian London and work side-by-side with the legendary detective. As crime-solving sleuths, visitors will be Holmes’ eyes and ears as he tackles a baffling new case. Learning how to view the world as he sees it, visitors will use a special notebook to document observations and scientific evidence. So hurry along. As Sherlock would say, “You kno w my methods, apply them!”
