Chaozhou woodcarving is a famous genre in Chinese folk woodcarving. It is particularly prevalent in east Guangdong areas historically under the jurisdiction of Chaozhou Prefecture, including Chaozhou, Chaoan, Raoping, Puning, Shantou, Chenghai, Chaoyang, Jieyang, Jiexi and Huilai—hence its name.
