Paper-cutting is one treasure of the traditional folk handicrafts in China. Its history can date back to Eastern Han Dynasty and has been adored by Chinese people. Langfang Museum has a large collection of paper-cuttings, of which some 100 pieces are selected to be displayed, including masterpieces from Yu County in period of Republic of China and modern times. Paper-cuttings are chiefly of decorative use, with various patterns, wonderful designs and bright colors. The unique handicraft of paper-cutting of Yu County has auspicious meaning, expresses people’s good wishes, and reflects life of the local people.
