Chinese minority ethnic groups are known for their skills in singing and dancing.During  the past thousands of years,they have created brilliant and characteristic traditional  musical culture.National instrument,as the carrier of the musical culture,is unique in  shaping with delicate craftsmanship and archaic styles.They can be used to play  enchanting music,to show the rich cultural contents,and to serve as the refreshing  national handicrafts.

Museum of the National Cultural Palace has a considerable amount of instruments of  minority ethnic groups,including wind instruments,percussion instruments and stringed  instruments.All of which come from the folk.They are mostly used for the minority  people to entertain themselves and accompany the dancers.Some instruments remain  their original style,such as Xun of Hui,"Da Dingdong"  of Li,deer horn whistle of  Owenk,flute of Qiang,Xi instrument of Korean.They can be called "the living fossils"of  the musical culture,and are the important material for the research on ancient musical  culture.Mongolian's horse-headshaped stringed instrument,Uygur's wooden aijieke  horn,reed-pipe wind instrument and gourd pipe of Miao,Dong,Yao,Yi,and Dai's bawu  have unique features,and are solely used by these minority ethnic groups.
