The exhibition includes 72 items of cultural relics and 12 items of auxiliary exhibits with great value of history and art, most of which are collected in the Qing Dynasty. The exhibition is themed by “Benevolence and Longevity”, and consists of four parts: Benevolence Hill and Longevity Water, Love for the People, Virtue of Tolerance, and Keep Fit in Old Age. It shows Emperor Qianlong’s affection for his mother, his appreciation of traditional arts, and his understanding of religion, nation, and foreign culture. It also expresses the importance of the Sumer Palace in acting as the imperial gardens for domestic and international affairs in the Qing dynasty. It also presents to the visitors the style of the gardens, architecture, interior furnishings and daily life in the Summer Palace.
