Legend of Grasslands Silk Road -Exhibition of Selected Relics

Keywords: Grasslands Silk Road, Relics, science

Silk Road is a route of trade and communications from China to Europe and Africa in different times in ancient China. It was not only a remarkable road of commerce, but also a road of Sino-Western cultural exchanges and clashes. The earliest and very important part of Silk Road is the Grasslands Silk Road.

This exhibition demonstrates the Grasslands Silk Road from the formation to the prosperous period, and then to its integrating into modern society. The four sections mainly tell about the cultural exchanges before the formation of Grasslands Silk Road, in the Dynasties of Western Zhou and Eastern Zhou after the formation of the Grasslands Silk Road, history of Sino-Europe cultural exchanges that some ethnic groups (Hun, Xianbei, Turk, Khitan, Mongolian, etc.) involved in, and the Grasslands Silk Road in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Visitors can see the important role the Grasslands Silk Road played for thousands of years in the development of both Chinese and world civilization.

With the passage of time, the history of the Grasslands Silk Road has turned vague, but the cultural relics that archeologists discovered in various times bear the essence of history, science, culture and arts. New life will be given to wares of bronze, gold, silver, glass, china, and other precious relics.
